Go Tigers Go!

Bill was very happy to stay up to 2 am and "watch" the Tigers & Yankees on the ESPN "gamecast" website. I periodically got out of bed to watch a play or two. Hopefully, the next series won't go for all 7 games, because it is hard to stay up so late. We are already scheming on how we will get up in the middle of the night to watch the World Series and then go back to bed after the kids go to school. Note to Scott - Bill tried to web-call you after the game last night to share in the excitement but you must have been too noisy to hear the call from the computer.

As I have said before, they are almost guaranteed to win the Series because we are out of the country! Anyway, Bill will be bleary-eyed for the next couple of weeks while the baseball season plays itself out without us. This is one thing we REALLY are sorry to be missing!

Hi Nick and Sam,

This is Jimmy Du. Did you go to Rome? I like the Marostica chessboard and the fireworks. Italy is beautiful. You guys are growing taller. Did you eat lots of pizza and pasta? The Tigers won. Horray! It's almost Halloween. How will you celebrate Halloween in Italy. Everybody in our class is having fun. Say hello to your grandma for me. Here is my mom'e-mail address: jyhu2000@yahoo.com. Please write back to me.

Best wishes,

Jimmy

My heart goes out to Bill- one of the biggest Tiger fans I know. Here's hoping you're staying caught up on your sleep during the playoffs!

Hi Bill,
Finally got around to looking up yours and Cindy's blog. I was the woman in your Italian class at Brownell, right before my husband Rich and I were to live in Umbria for a year. We did that in 2005, and did another 3 months in 2006. Definitely plan to return.

Your blog is delightful and the photos are fab. I didn't see anything posted beyond October so I suspect you've all been very busy. Perhaps your year is over?

I remember that finding a place to live was a problem before you left. How did all that go?

My e-mail address is:

although you should know that we're not in Italy at the moment, but are taking Italian lessons (for credit) at Macomb Community College. I'm also back working at Central Library after a two-year sabbatical to live in Italy. We had the time of our life. But now we're basking in the glow of our first grandchild, aptly named Stella Sofia, although she is not Italian!
